Implementing Just Care
Just Care is founded on evidence-based practices designed to help parents build strong, healthy, and rewarding relationships with their children. Parents are matched with a Care Coach who can help them with parenting, substance use, mental health, navigating systems, building communities, and basic needs.
Average length of treatment: 9 months
Average caseload size: 8-10 per family coach
Team of 1 supervisor and 3-7 family coaches
Just Care aims to provide access to services for parents who:
Live in rural areas
Experience multiple barriers
Struggle to stay connected to services
Program features:
Team of 1 supervisor and 3-7 family coaches
Space for a donation-stocked Care Store to provide contingency management incentives.
Clinical session expense budget for engagement-building drinks, snacks,
and incentives
Ability to transport clients and do community-
based sessions
Operational Needs:
Urinalysis protocol and CLIA-waived test certificate
Mileage/provision of services in community
State approval for service delivery in community
SUDS and BH licensure (preferred)
DHS/child welfare support and communication
Medicaid or other method for reimbursement
24 on-call protocol/staffing
Ability to transport clients
HIPAA training
Physical space for Care Store
Ability to accept donations for the Care Store (e.g., clothing, toys, cash/checks, household items, etc.)
